But oh man I have gotten WAY off topic. Its because I'm brainstorming and reasoning it out as best I can with my paltry knowledge. But the term was so striking, it necessitated immediate thought.
If I can attempt to summarize = the faith of the OT saints was "Eucharistic" because it was still fixed on the Messiah, Jesus Christ, specifically in His Real Presence to come into the world. They did not see Him, but they believed He "was there" in the future, because God had SAID He was. For the NT saints, their faith was Eucharistic because it was fixed on the exact same Promised Messiah Who HAD now come into the world, just as God had said, and the Apostles DID see Him "right there, right now", and so DID enjoy His Real Presence TANGIBLY AMONG them. And BY His coming, Jesus ALSO fulfilled ALL the "other" Promises God had spoken over the ages! And so for these Hebrew converts, the OLD "Eucharistic faith," the one in TYPES, like the MANNA, had actually ENDED– in a real sense IT HAD "DIED," never to live again– but ONLY because NOW it was entering a "JOURNEY" INTO TRUE LIFE, because that SAME FAITH was now REBORN and RESURRECTED into a NEW life, to subsist on the TRUE "bread from heaven," JESUS CHRIST. And THIS is the FULLEST "Eucharistic faith"– the one that was ONLY POSSIBLE AFTER JESUS'S ASCENSION, BY THE DESCENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT UPON THE CHURCH. Now we have the ACTUAL Eucharist– the REAL PRESENCE of the Messiah fulfilling EVERY Sacrifice and EVERY Law and giving EVERY grace, to LITERALLY be WITH us and WITHIN us "until the end of time" (Matthew 28:20), and we believe this BECAUSE HE SAID IT (Luke 22:19-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26). We have the "viaticum" of the past Promises of Hope in Christ, and we WILL have the true Viaticum of the future Promises of Hope in Christ. From the beginning to the end it has always been about Jesus Christ, the Messiah, our Eucharistic Lord, "God With Us," Son of God and Son of Mary, Divine Word and Heavenly Bread and Covenant Blood, Creator and Judge and Redeemer and Friend and Bridegroom and Brother and LORD. The Faith is forever the same, for HE is eternally the same, and death has no power over Him.]

[Because Jesus not only FULFILLED (and WILL CONTINUE to fulfill until the end of time) ALL OF GOD'S PROMISES to His people, thus "completing" the story in Himself, but He also GLORIFIED all the types and symbols and reflections, because JESUS IS GOD and thus thus ALL the historical foreshadowings of Him were now suffused with Divine Light??? In any case, the simple yet profound FACTS that not only was the HISTORY OF GOD the history of ISRAEL, and thus ONLY THEIR NATION had the Law and Promises and Prophets and Patriarchs, etc.– but ALSO that as a RESULT of this, the SAVIOR OF MANKIND was born from the HEBREWS; GOD HIMSELF was born as a JEW. This was the GREATEST POSSIBLE GLORY that their people and nation could EVER have enjoyed, and they DID! The Gospel did the exact opposite of "discarding" their history– it EMBRACED it and VALIDATED it and SANCTIFIED it and MADE IT THE HISTORY OF ALL THE FAITHFUL FOREVER, because EVERY CHRISTIAN IS ALSO AN "ISRAELITE" (Genesis 12:2-3, Psalm 87:5-6, Hebrews 12:22-23, Galatians 4:26). The Gospel elevated Israel from the "smallest of all nations" to the very greatest in all human history, because it was in and through the Chosen People that the Only-Begotten Son was born, to adopt ALL the faithful into His Family, and restore ALL men to God (Isaiah 2:1-3, Matthew 28:19, Luke 24:47, Romans 16:26, Acts 1:8, 13:47).]
