a prayer of thanks
Jun. 24th, 2022 04:09 pmGod, nothing is impossible for You, but I fail to grasp the true depths of Your omnipotence in that regard. Yes, You can create planets and infants and songs-- great acts of Life and Power that no mortal can ever imitate-- but You can also forgive, and heal, and redeem, in even greater acts of incomprehensible Goodness. I mean, yes, making a star is impossible for me, but I KNOW it's possible for You... whereas, some nights, I wonder if it's possible for even You to fix me, wretch that I am. It seems truly impossible. But... that's the glorious catch. NOTHING is impossible for You, yet the glory of that truth only reveals itself in the face of my utter despair.
You are a God of the impossible. You love me even when I’m unloveable. You are good to me even when I don’t deserve it. You are kind and compassionate toward me even when I mess up. You show me what faithful love looks like. You can, and DO, do ALL those "impossible" things, and You are glorified by it. It's almost too beautiful to be true... but You are Truth, too, the Truth that there is NO such thing as "unlovable," not as long as Love Himself exists. My beloved God, I thank You for never leaving or forsaking me! I have deserved it countless times, but Your amazing Mercy saved me instead. Today, remind of the ways You have shown up in my life so that way I can intentionally praise You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
