my version of sonic 2006.
It's AWESOME.


opens with me looking shocked and saying "what?!"
then pans out to show me in mah room, surrounded by maids/what have you saying, "your mother had an unexpected date tonight so we need you to perform the ceremony in her place."
"Wh-- Ceremony? I wasn't aware of any ceremonies."
"Oh, didn't she tell you? Tonight is the Festival Of the Sun!"
"The Sun? Sweetheart, I don't think a sun festival is going to go down too well at 10PM."
"Don't get smart, it's customary. Now hurry up and put this on, we don't have time to waste!" (holding up an Elise dress)
"Wait, I need to wear THAT for the ceremony? Can't I just wear my suit??"
"You're the princess; princesses don't wear suits!"
(me thinking) "Why, God??"


NOW TO THE CINEMATIC YEAAAAAH.

Starts off as the canon, except I'm really nervous and thinking "oh man, this had better not take three hours..."
I get up to the platform and have the same vision thing (plot point whoa) but am interrupted by a woman assistant telling me to 'pay attention.'
I then bow but, when I start talking I raise up my right arm. "We give thanks for the blessed flames" etc. is written on my arm, haha. I read this off then light the fire.
After everything lights up and the fireworks go off, I quietly say "whoa. Now THAT was worth wearing a dress for." However then I get SHOT (almost) by fire!
Instead of shrieking I start freaking, making sure no one was killed by that explosion, but then the robots arrive and Eggman lands.
HOWEVER... important plot point, Chaos Zero is in that ship thing with him.
Oh you KNOW what I am planning.

(eggman steps forward and bows, I'm looking highly confused/worried)
"A pleasure to meet you at last, Queen of Soleanna!" (remember it was supposed to be my MOM)
"Wha-- I'm not--!"
(ignoring me) "I am Doctor Eggman. I've come here to obtain the secret of the Flames of Disaster from you."
"Flames of Disa--? Wait wait wait, hold up. I think you've got the wrong guy."
"Ahahaha. I don't think so, Queen El--"
(loudly interrupting) "I'm not the Queen, okay? She's not here. I had to take over for her at the last second, and i have no idea what flames you're talking about."
"...So... you're the Princess?"
"PRINCE."
"But... you're wearing a dress."
"You think this was MY decision?!"
(random royal woman) "She is the Princess, sir...?"
(eggman) "Robotnik. I mean Eggman. Sir Eggman."
(woman) "Eggman, yes. She is indeed the Queen's daughter...She's just rather strange."
(eggman) "I see." (pauses, looking thoughtful) (quickly) "Oh well. Guess it's time for plan B." (quick *ahem* then back to bad-guy acting) "Whether or not you know of the Flames of Disaster, it's common knowledge that the Royal Family of Soleanna is the proud protector of a certain miracle gem... the blue Chaos Emerald."
(me) *realizes I am wearing this very Emerald as a 'charm'* *quickly grab it* "What about it?"
"What about it? Why, 'princess' (he says this mockingly)... I'm here to take it from you. Isn't that right, Chaos?" (he turns to look at Chaos, who is sitting in the back, arms and legs crossed, looking very very angry/not amused)
(chaos) *flips him off*
(eggman) *flinch* Hh. *quickly turns back to me* "Anyway. I still need that gem of yours, miss, so you can either--"
"It's SIR, not 'miss.' If you're going to insist on using female pronouns, at least use the right honoraries. And I'm not giving this to you, by the way."
"I beg to differ, 'sir.' If you refuse to hand the Emerald over peacefully, I shall simply be forced to... take it from you."
(the robots all take a step towards me; readying weapons)
(chaos) *stands up; he's visibly bound by thick electronic 'shackles' of some sort* "Hey now, that's getting out of hand--"
(eggman) "I gave her a choice, Chaos. This is perfectly fair." (i look up nervously, eggman smiles evilly and holds out a hand in expectation) "So, what do you say?"
(I look nervous for a second, then suddenly drop it and stare up at Eggman) "Nice try, but you're not getting anything from me."
"Suit yourself--?" (As he's speaking, Chaos liquifies, rushes up in front of Eggman and reforms to jump off the front platform onto my level)
(chaos) "Don't mind if I do!"
(eggman) "What?! I had you bound!"
(chaos) "Forget about this?" *liquifies his hands momentarily* "For a genius, you're surprisingly failure-prone."
(eggman) *growls angrily* "Get them!" (the robots all turn towards Chaos)
(chaos) *grins* (says under his breath) "Bingo."
(me) *pointing to Chaos and the robots* "Wait, you're seriously going to--?"
(robots start firing) (I exclaim "WHOA!" and back up a step) (Chaos melt-dodges and starts punching out bots) (this triggers an awesome ACTION SEQUENCE like in the actual cinematic)
(I notice that the bots are mostly focused on him, so I'm telling people to run. However, as I'm doing so, two bots approach me. I'm UNARMED) "Uh-- if a man says he is lying, is what he says true or false?"
(both bots stop, look at each other, then start to short out before their heads explode)
(me) "Sorry!" (turn to the people and get the last of 'em to run, but suddenly Chaos appears behind me and grabs my shoulder)
"Come on, let's get out of here!"
"Wait--" (back away from his grip) "Aren't you working for him?"
(A robot shows up behind Chaos and he quickly punches it down) (back to me) "Do you want to be in this situation?"
"No!"
"Neither do I!" (grabs my arm and turns to run)
"Hold on, we can't just run!"
"Why not??"
"He'll keep-- aah!!" (my arm gets clipped by a laser/bullet/thing)
(Chaos jumps at the robots then turns to me) (notices the injury) "Damn.. Kid, you're gonna get killed if I don't get you out of here--"
(in pain) "And if we escape to the city, he'll chase after us and LOTS of people are going to be killed!"
(Chaos says nothing, but then realizes that there are no more robots attacking; the handful left are standing off to either side of the platform. We both turn to see Eggman slowly approaching us in his hovercraft. He's grinning but he's obviously very angry) "Trying to rebel again, Chaos? Why don't you tell this girl why I brought you here?"
(me) "Wh--?"
(chaos) (quickly) "Don't listen to him." (to eggman) "I don't care why you brought me here. As long as I'm in a position to stop you, that's what I'm going to do."
(eggman) "Sure you are." (starts approaching again, Chaos and i start backing up) "I expected this from the both of you, actually... so I came prepared. There are many more robots where the last batch came from, and only two of you." (we look up to see several flying robots around his ship) (I'm panicking a bit but Chaos is obviously thinking hard)
(eggman suddenly stops) (I take one more step back and bump into the edge of the platform. Realizing this I REALLY start to panic, and eggman sees this) "This doesn't have to be the end, Princess." (I flinch) "All you need to do is hand over that Emerald, and I'll leave both you and your city in peace."
(chaos) (sharply, noticing my fear) "Don't trust him!"
(eggman) Me? Why, do you expect her to trust you instead?"
(There's a pause, and Chaos' eyes flicker to the water before settling on me. He's suddenly visibly nervous) (to me, candidly) "..Do you trust me?"
(me, answering without hesitation) "Yes."
(Chaos, suddenly picking me up and jumping onto the ledge) "Then hold on." (Without warning we dive into the water)
(eggman) (obviously this took him by surprise) "Son of a--- ATTACK!"
(Like the original cinematic, the flying robots start firing torpedoes-- but at the WATER, causing huge splash-splosions. Little do they know that Chaos is SUPERFAST in water and we have already reached the city's edge behind Eggman's view.)

(meanwhile, Tiara is standing on a nearby mountain-thing) "I've finally found him... the Iblis Trigger!"


SECOND CINEMATIC YEAAAAAH

(The sound of explosions are still going on, but the camera is showing a 'shoreline' of the city, behind Eggman. Suddenly a mini-wave splashes up on it, and I'm being carried in it. I land on my feet and inhale as the wave solidifies into Chaos, who says "ssh!" and starts running. I hesitate for one moment, noticing I'm soaked and still bleeding, then follow.)
(me) "What was that all about?"
(chaos) "I'll tell you later. Right now we just need to get out of his sight and away from those torpedoes."
(I say nothing for a moment, looking at what street we're on (it's an empty back street), then grab his arm and pull him to the right) "Hold on one minute."
"What are you doing?"
"Just trust me."
(Chaos says nothing and just follows)
(We shortly arrive at a small house with no lights on) (I run over and try the door) "Aw, come on! It's locked." (I look around for something to maybe pick it with when Chaos liquifies & slides under. There's a click and he opens the door) "Thank you!" (I run inside and he closes the door, locking it, behind us)
(chaos) *notices I'm still holding my arm and bleeding* Kid, we need to do something about that arm of yours."
(I stop mid-run and look at it, worried, then sigh shortly) "I know... but we need to get moving first. At least let me get out of this frilly thing and into something more practical." (I notice he's still worried, though, and I smile) "It'll only take a minute. Come on." (I turn to walk down the hall, but Chaos takes a quick look around first.)
"Somehow I doubt you live here, kid."
(I pause, facing him) "I don't, it's a friend's house. I know he said he'd be out tonight, so he's probably still at the Festival or something... Here, get away from the door." (I motion for him to follow and run into a bathroom. I grab a towel then run across the hall into a bedroom.)
(Chaos leans against the doorframe) "You really trust me, don't you?"
(I'm trying to get the soaked dress off quickly, ignoring my bleeding arm momentarily) "'Course I do. You seem like a nice guy."
(Chaos smiles a bit, but looks down) "Heh. I'm flattered you think so."
(I get the soaked & bloody dress off and look at it disgustedly, then fold it over a few times. I take the Chaos Emerald and set it on the bed. I'm wearing boxer shorts and that's it, haha.) "You shouldn't be, love. You just saved my life out there." (I hand him the dress and he looks surprised) "Here, can you hide this in the room I was just in? I'd rather not be dragging it along."
"Sure." (He turns and goes in there, meanwhile there's the sound of opening/closing drawers from the bedroom I'm in. Chaos looks around and notices a cabinet under the sink) "You don't mind where I put this, do you?"
"Nope, just keep it out of sight."
(Chaos puts it in the back of the cabinet, then walks back to the bedroom. I'm in different boxers and am quickly toweling off my (short!) hair. There's a tee shirt, pants & socks on the bed, by the Emerald) "Sorry. It's just that there's no way I'm traveling in a dress."
"I don't blame you." (He pauses as I wince, instinctively putting the towel to my arm) "...Does that hurt badly?"
"Nah, I can handle it. Don't you worry." (I put the towel down on the bed and throw on the socks)
(After a doubtful moment) "...So you're the reluctant princess, is it?"
"Prince, if I had a choice. Then again, I never asked to be royalty either. My mum married into it, not me."
"Hm."
(I'm putting on grey jeans now) "That doesn't matter, though. What matters is that now we're in this together." (I stop, still shirtless (my chest tattoo is there, aha!), and look at him almost compassionately) "Why'd you do it?"
"Do what? Save you?"
"Yeah. Somehow I don't think it's just because you dislike that Egg-guy. And yes, I could tell."
(Chaos smiles again, then walks over towards me) "It has a lot to do with that, but you're right." (He stops, by the bed, then picks up the shirt and hands it to me. I smile back and quickly throw it on as he continues, crossing his arms) "I'm no villain, whatever that whole fiasco may have suggested. That 'Egg-guy,' though-- he's a madman. I've been through hell and back because of him, and I'm not about to let him do that to someone else. Especially not through me."
(I've got the shirt on) "Wait-- through you? What do you mean?"
(Chaos points to the Emerald on the bed) "If Eggman gets his hands on all 7 of those, he can use them to turn me into an apocalyptic monster. He's done it before." (He stops and turns away from me, glaring painfully at the Emerald)
"...Oh. That's why he had you with him, then. You didn't do that willingly."
"Of course I didn't! You think I'd choose to work with that psycho?"
"No." (Chaos stops, realizing his outburst, as I absentmindedly move to touch my hurt arm. Chaos grabs the towel from the bed and apologetically hands it to me. I smile and put it to my arm) "Is that why he wants that Emerald, then?"
"Partly. I'm only his last resort, I hope... he's here looking for the "Flames Of Disaster," whatever that is."
"You mean you don't know either?"
(He stops and looks at me) "You mean you weren't bluffing?"
(I pause, then laugh shortly) "No, actually! I honestly have no idea what those are. He did think I was my mom, though, so..." (I stop) "Do you think he's going to go after my mom?"
"Your mother? Is she the Queen?"
"Yeah! She was supposed to lead the ceremony tonight, I just took over because she was out--" (I move too fast and hurt my arm, then flinch hard)
(Chaos moves over to me quickly. I take the towel off and notice the wound still looks awful.) "...You said she was out? Where?"
"I don't know. But knowing her, she'll probably be out for all hours... why?"
"Then we have time. Come on." (I grab the Emerald and he leads me out into the bathroom, stuffing the bloodied towel under the sink with the dress. I put the gem on the counter and immediately start washing out the wound, wincing. It's more of a burn than a cut. Chaos grabs a small towel off the shelf behind us)
"Here, put this over it for now." (He ties it around my arm)
"...Thank you."
"Hey, it's the least I could do, kid, after what you just went through."
(I laugh) "If you say so. Either way, I am going to make this up to you."
"You don't have to."
"Yes I do, geez, I wouldn't even be here right now if it weren't for you." (I pick up the Emerald) "You see this? Eggman isn't going to come anywhere near it, or any other ones, as long as I can help it. I promise. For your sake."
"...Thank you."
(I smile, set down the Emerald, and hold out my hand) "My name is Jewel, by the way. Jewel Lightraye."
(Chaos smiles at this, amused that it took this long for proper introductions, and shakes my hand) "Chaos Zero, as you already know."
"Yeah." (I look at him for a second, then reach out and pull him into a hug. He's surprised at this but returns it anyhow.) "Thank you so much." (My voice is breaking a bit. After a few moments I let go.) "All right. I guess we'd better get moving. We can't stay here forever."
(Chaos is a little flustered at how quickly the past 20 seconds have happened, so it takes him a moment to reply) "Do you, uh, have any thoughts on where we should go now?"
"Well... Eggman's still looking for us, obviously, but I do want to know if my mom's okay. If we head to the edge of town we can see the castle, and there's a path leading out to Soleanna Forest nearby if we need to take refuge there." (I look up at him quickly) "I mean, if that's okay with you."
"I don't have any plans other than getting away from Eggman." (He smiles and turns to leave) "Let's go."
"Sounds good to me!" (I grab the Emerald and we both leave)


SCENE SWIIIIITCH AW YEE.

(Now we're running down a back street again, trying to stay in the shadows so we won't be seen.)
(Me) Do you think he's still looking for us?
"Definitely. We have to be extremely care--"
(Suddenly a bot jumps off a nearby roof and lands in front of us. Chaos steps in front of me as several more appear)
(Me) How did they- aaaah! (Robotnik-bot GRABS ME)
(Chaos) Jewel! (He runs to save me but the robots from behind catch him. He moves to fight them off but they suddenly shock him (electricity = tons of pain for Chaos), causing him to cry out and fall to his knees)
(Me) Aah! *struggling* This is fighting dirty, Eggman!
(Eggman) Why should that matter to me? I'm afraid our little game ends now.
(Chaos) *getting up; Eggman is getting away* Jewel! Throw me the Emerald!
"What? But you said--"
"Just give it to me!"
(I manage to free my arm and throw it down. Chaos melts over and catches it, but the bots follow. He immediately low-kicks them off balance and manages to take them out. By the time he's done with them Eggman & I are way out of reach)
(Chaos) "Eggman, you bastard! Get back here!"
(Eggman) "I'll be back soon enough. Keep that Emerald safe for me, Chaos!"
(Me) "Don't worry about me! I'll get through this!" (quietly) "Somehow."
(The canon cinematic bits kick in here, with the hovercraft going up into the ship and flying off. Chaos is visibly very distressed, throwing a punch to the air before taking his head in his hands. He notices he's holding the Emerald, though, and jumps. He desperately looks down at it)
"What am I supposed to do now?"


THE NEXT DAY~!

(Chaos is sitting down by the water at the edge of town, out of sight. He's asleep, but nevertheless looks awfully tired. He's loosely holding the Emerald against his chest.) (Suddenly there's a 'ribbit' from somewhere. It's silent for a few seconds, then a frog appears on the ledge by Chaos' head and ribbits again. Chaos' eyes tighten before opening, but there's another ribbit and he jumps, clutching the Emerald tightly and looking up to the source of the sound. He's apparently dazed and baffled for a moment, but this quickly snaps to total recognition. He opens his mouth to say something when another voice calls out from nearby)
"There you are, Froggy! What are you doing all the way over here?"
(Chaos is still thunderstruck) "...Big?" (He starts getting to his feet)
(The cat in question is kneeling down and scooping Froggy into his hands when he hears his name, and looks over the ledge to see Chaos) "Why, look who you've found, little buddy!" (He puts Froggy on his shoulder and climbs down to the edge where Chaos is now standing, thankful but surprised) "Long time no see, old friend!" (Without warning he gives Chaos a bear hug; it's obviously tight even for him, haha.) (Laughing) "So what brings you to Soleanna?"
(Chaos is still holding the gem tightly) "Heh-- me? Geez, Big, you're the last person I expected to see here. What're you doing, taking another vacation?"
"I was!" (He laughs again, but some of Big's optimism visibly fades, and he shakes his head, still smiling somewhat) "But Froggy here got wind that the Doctor has been seen around. I remember the last time we saw him. Things didn't go all too well."
"...No, they didn't."
"Is that why you're here, Chaos? You don't look very good."
(He's taken by surprise) "Huh?"
"Did you come to try and stop Eggman? I know you don't like him one bit.."
"Actually, Big, I..." (Chaos winces a bit and looks aside. Froggy ribbits once and takes this as his chance to jump down onto Chaos hands, who jumps harshly and looks back down at him)
(Big laughs, surprised) "What's that, Froggy?" (He gently picks Froggy back up, then notices what Chaos is holding) "Oh, it's one of those Emeralds! Where'd you find it, Chaos? Are you using it as a good luck charm?"
(Chaos says nothing at first, and just tightens his grip on the gem) "Not exactly. ...It's a long story, Big. I don't know if you have time--"
"I always have time for friends!" (Being his usual way-too-happy self, Big puts an arm around Chaos' shoulders and motions him forwards) "Start from the beginning."
(Chaos can't help but smile at this) "If you insist."


WHAT'S THIS AN EXTRA SCENE CUT??
Not really; it's just a fade-to-black then come-right-back-but-later-on thing. It's all cool!

(Chaos and Big are sitting on one of the metal benches not far from where Chaos was sleeping. The camera shows a back view of them; Chaos is visibly slouched over and looks rather dejected, while Big is leaned over in rapt attention, Froggy perched on his left shoulder. Chaos shrugs half-heartedly as the camera slowly moves towards them)
"...There was nothing else I could do, so I figured I'd just sleep on it... (camera now shows Chaos from the front) ...get my mind off things for a few hours. It didn't work too well." He smiles apologetically, and it's apparent he's emotionally drained from all this) "That's basically the part when you two showed up."
(Big is visibly sympathetic) "So Eggman just stole her and ran away?"
"That's basically it." (Chaos sits up straight and looks out over the water) "So I'm going to have to steal her back."
(Big is silent for a moment, then suddenly laughs excitedly) You hear that, Froggy? We're going on an adventure!
