BUT "Rahab = the harlot" (i.e. infidelity of idolatry) was "released from slavery" THROUGH faith, and thus NO LONGER a prostitute because FAITH IS FIDELITY.
Rahab ALSO represented CANAAN, as the stand-in for the Gentile nations in general? who were ALL "pagans"; i.e. IDOLATERS = "PROSTITUTES".
Psalm 87 Babylon inclusion = "WHORE" association, "SECOND Egypt"; even such sinners as these have hope of conversion

2. Rahab SPEAKING IN "PROPHETIC PRESENT TENSE"?????
Her declaration of FAITH was that God "HAS GIVEN" Jericho to the Israelites, thus affirming that future state "AS GOOD AS DONE," despite all visible and logical odds being against it. THEREFORE did she have FAITH in the future destiny of the SPIES towards that end???? She TRUSTED that they WOULD escape, that God WOULD let them go out of the city, and that she WOULD "cooperate with God" in MAKING that happen THROUGH her FAITH that He WOULD?????
ALSO she was speaking in SPIRITUAL terms of PROPHECY AND HOPE????? "FOLLOW THEM" meaning a call to REPENTANCE, to FAITH, in order to "GO OUT OF THE CITY" as SHE had in spirit (now belonging to the heavenly city), in order to ESCAPE DEATH BY FAITHLESSNESS & STUBBORNLY "STAYING IN THE CITY" OF SIN????

ANALYZE THIS IN FULL, ACCORDING TO THE HEBREW =
Joshua 2:4-5
But the woman took the two men and hid them. 'It is true,' she said, 'the men did come to me,

I also feel unsettled by the Protestant overemphasis on the Church as a "diverse community of cultures and ethnicities", which, although true, is still earthly language, and still ENTIRELY LACKS the FULL TRUTH of the Catholic emphasis on the Church as THE ACTUAL MYSTICAL BODY OF CHRIST, which TRANSCENDS such language.
ALSO the "City of God" is NOT literal earthly Jerusalem; there is NO ALLOWANCE WHATSOEVER for heretical Zionism here!!!!!
