1 corinthians 10:23-24
Jan. 3rd, 2022 04:43 pmLooking at it one way, you could say, “Anything goes. Because of God’s immense generosity and grace, we don’t have to dissect and scrutinize every action to see if it will pass muster.” But the point is not to just get by. We want to live well, but our foremost efforts should be to help others live well. (1 Corinthians 10:23-24 MSG) This is SUCH a key distinction-- we must always judge our actions first by whether or not it honors God, yes, but also secondly by whether or not it brings others closer to Him too! We must seek to not only actively edify, but also to keenly avoid giving even the appearance of scandal. We are all "our brother's keeper."
